Ways to Become Involved in River Road Church

In addition to giving a percentage of our financial resources to God’s kingdom, Christian stewardship involves offering our time and talent to God in gratitude by getting involved in the life of River Road Church. Below are just some of the ways you can help. What can you do for River Road?

1. Attend Sunday morning worship regularly.
2. Attend Sunday School regularly.
3. Attend Wednesday evening dinner and programs.
4. Help teach Sunday School (regularly or as a substitute) – adults, youth, children.
5. Help lead Sunday evening youth and children’s programs.
6. Help lead Wednesday evening youth and children’s programs.
7. Become a deacon.
8. Join one of the choirs (Chancel or Handbell).
9. Join the WMU, either morning or evening group.
10. Attend Joyful Hearts, a women’s Bible study.
11. Volunteer to help on any of the church boards and committees:

22. Help with Vacation Bible School for a week in the summer.

24. Participate in the Labyrinth Walk when it is offered.
25. Help with odd repair jobs around the church through the FIXERS.
26. Help with odd repair jobs at members’ homes through the Tool Box ministry.
27. Participate in the church workdays.
28. Join the Faith Community Nurse ministry.
29. Help with the church web page.
30. Assist with children’s musicals.
31. Volunteer for WorshipCare (extended Sunday morning care for preschoolers).
32. Help maintain the church computer system.
33. Help operate the church sound system.
34. Join a Wednesday night dinner serving team.
35. Help fold the church newsletter on Wednesday mornings.
36. Join Sunday night Adult Bible study group.
37. Participate in the men’s prayer breakfast.
38. Participate in the In Home ministry (visit, send cards, and phone shut-ins).
39. Help with CARITAS guests (provide meals, fix lunches, spend night).
40. Help clean up Camp Alkulana in spring.
41. Volunteer with CrossOver Clinic (physician, nurse, translator, assistant).
42. Become an ESL (English as a second language) tutor.
43. Become a MICAH mentor (Summer Hill Elementary School).
44. Join a Habitat for Humanity construction team.
45. Provide food and clothing for special mission projects.
46. Participate in the prison ministry (visiting incarcerated youth).
47. Join a mission tour (week-long trips to aid another church or area).
48. Participate in local construction projects with other church members.
