  • Worship
    Worship service is the center of our gathered community of faith. Regular participation in worship sustains both the individual and the congregation seeking to live out God's purpose in the world.

  • Education
    Regular educational ministries include adult, youth, and children Sunday School Classes; Adult Bible Study; lectures and forums; retreats; and other activities.
  • Church workday
  • Missions
    The congregation actively supports mission work in our community and around the world. Members are given opportunities throughout the year to find a place of service in several ways.

  • Music
    A special emphasis is placed on music at River Road Church, with programs such as choirs from Preschool through Adult, bell choirs, an annual concert series, and Summer Music Camp.

  • Other Activities & Specialized Ministries

    We have a firm commitment to ensuring that each wedding at River Road Church, Baptist be a joyful and reverent worship service.
    The Columbarium Memorial Garden of River Road Church, Baptist provides a beautiful and peaceful setting for prayer and the remembrance of loved ones.
    The River Road Preschool development center provides quality programs for children ages 2 through 5. The school serves over 300 families in the church and community, helping them meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of their children.
    Begun in September 1999, this collegial group of book lovers meets on the fourth Thursday of each month (except Thanksgiving) at 7:30 p.m., in the Reception Room.
    Are you looking for something that will revive and deepen your spiritual life? Are you weighed down with heavy work, family, and church responsibilities and desiring something that will keep you centered in that which is of ultimate value? Then consider being a part of Companions in Christ.
    Labyrinths have been designed to lead us from the tensions of our lives into the quiet center of our hearts and invite us to bring our transformation back out into the world. The large purple labyrinth at River Road Church is a portable copy on canvas of the one originally laid in the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France in the 12th century.
    B egun in November 2000, this is a group of young parents who select topics for discussion, learning activities, or books for reading and discussing.
    The Stephen Ministry is a lay ministry of love and commitment. Like Stephen, the Apostle of the early Christian church, sent to minister to the needy, Stephen Ministers are lay people at our church, trained to listen and provide care to those with ongoing needs.
    The focus of Faith Community Nursing is health promotion/illness prevention known in faith communities as "stewardship of the body."
    Building community is an important part of life at River Road Church. For that reason, we have a year-round slate of activities that enrich the mind and body while providing a great deal of fun.
    The members are students of theology who select a modern theologian and some of his/her writings for reading and discussing.
