Sunday morning worship services are the center of our gathered community
of faith. Regular participation in worship sustains both the individual
and the congregation seeking to live out God's purpose in the world.
Worship follows the liturgical calendar, enhanced by special services
during the season of Advent, on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Ash
Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Thanksgiving Eve.
During Sunday worship services, a nursery is provided
for infants while preschoolers
continue their program of Christian education through WorshipCare. Children
in grades one and two participate in Children's Worship, a program
of worship and education.
WorshipCare—Preschoolers, birth through five years,
participate in extended learning experiences in their Sunday School
rooms during the worship service. One teacher from the Sunday
School hour remains in the room to teach children during this
hour and is joined by WorshipCare volunteers from the congregation.
Children’s Worship—All elementary-aged children attend worship in the sanctuary with their families. Children in grades one and two worship with their families for the first part of the worship service and go at the appropriate time to the chapel for Children’s Worship. In Children’s Worship they are taught worship skills and participate in activities related to worship. Third through fifth grade children remain in the sanctuary for worship.
